Tender Engineer (MEP)

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Tender Engineer – MEP to lead and manage the preparation and submission of competitive tender proposals for Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) projects. The ideal candidate should have strong technical expertise in MEP systems, a good understanding of the market, and excellent communication and analytical skills. This role involves thorough rate analysis, market research, coordination with internal and external stakeholders, and timely tender submissions.

Key Responsibilities

Tendering & Rate Finalization

• Conduct market research and surveys to gather accurate material and labor rates.
• Perform detailed rate analysis to arrive at competitive and profitable tender rates.
• Suggest and finalize tender winning rates with a target profit margin of 12–15%.
• Ensure timely submission of rates and bids to the tender department.
• Maintain confidentiality and compliance throughout the tender process.

Coordination & Communication

• Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, consultants, and industry partners.
• Represent the company at industry events and forums to enhance brand visibility.
• Regularly track and monitor tenders, including price bid openings and submissions.
• Prepare and send price bid opening results to management and accounts.

Team Leadership & Reporting

• Lead and mentor a team of engineers and support staff involved in tendering.
• Assign responsibilities and ensure timely and accurate task completion.
• Monitor and evaluate performance and make strategic improvements.
• Submit regular status reports and strategic recommendations to senior management.

Documentation & Process Management

• Oversee all paperwork, compliance, and documentation for tender submissions.
• Continuously implement improvements based on feedback and lessons learned.
• Participate in meetings (internal and external) when required.

Ideal Candidate Profile

• Qualification: BE Mech., Electrical, or relevant Engineering field
• Skills:
  • Strategic planning and rate analysis
  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • Vendor negotiation and coordination
  • Excellent documentation and reporting
  • Familiarity with MEP systems and market standards
• Languages: Fluent in English, Hindi, and one regional language
• Travel: Minimal
