Technical Consultant (Part time) - CNC shop

Job Overview: The Technical Consultant for part time /Plant Manager will oversee the technical and production aspects of the CNC machine shop. 
The role involves ensuring high operational efficiency, optimizing costs, analyzing production data, and implementing effective solutions.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of raw material grades, particularlystainless steel and metal alloys, and demonstrate expertise in CNC machining processes. The candidate will also play a pivotal role in vendor development and new product costing.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Technical Oversight:
1. Ensure the CNC machine shop is operating efficiently and effectively.
2. Provide technical guidance for all machining processes, including tooling and equipment optimization.
3. Maintain a strong understanding of raw material grades for stainless steel and various metal alloys.
4. Set and monitor Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) targets, identifying areas for improvement.
5. Review and analyze daily production reports to track performance and address bottlenecks.

2. Cost Management:
1. Evaluate new product costing, ensuring competitive pricing and profitability.
2. Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives across operations.
3. Conduct feasibility studies for process improvements and technology upgrades.

3. Vendor Development:
1. Collaborate with vendors to ensure quality and timely supply of raw materials and components.
2. Identify and onboard new vendors, ensuring compliance with company standards.
3. Foster strong relationships with existing vendors to ensure operational continuity.

4. Consultant Role (if applicable):
1. Visit the facility periodically to assess operations and provide actionable recommendations.
2. Train and mentor the internal team on best practices in production and cost management.
3. Deliver comprehensive reports on findings and suggested improvements.

5. Leadership and Collaboration:
1. Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including design, quality, and supply chain.
2. Provide technical training and mentorship to staff.
