Job Summary
We are looking for a Junior Purchase Engineer (Techno-Commercial) with a basic understanding of technical specifications and procurement processes. The candidate must be able to communicate professionally with suppliers and manufacturers via email in English, assist in vendor management, cost negotiation, and purchasing activities, and work with Tally for purchase entries and record-keeping. They will also be responsible for preparing and submitting reports to senior management.
1. Procurement & Sourcing:
I. Assist in identifying and selecting suppliers based on cost, quality, and technical specifications.
II. Request quotations and compare technical and commercial aspects before finalizing vendors.
III. Issue purchase orders and ensure timely deliveries.
2. Techno-Commercial Understanding:
I. Read and understand technical specifications of materials and components.
II. Coordinate with the engineering/production team to ensure purchased materials meet requirements.
III. Balance technical suitability with cost-effectiveness.
3. Vendor Coordination & Communication:
I. Communicate professionally with suppliers and manufacturers via email and phone.
II. Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery timelines.
III. Build relationships with reliable vendors for long-term business.
4. Documentation, Tally & Reporting to Seniors:
I. Draft professional emails for inquiries, negotiations, and follow-ups.
II. Maintain records of purchases, quotations, supplier details, and contract agreements.
III. Enter purchase orders, invoices, and supplier payments into Tally.
IV. Generate purchase reports using Tally and Excel.
V. Prepare reports on procurement activities, including cost analysis, supplier performance, and purchase trends.
VI. Submit weekly and monthly reports to the Senior Purchase Engineer / Purchase Manager.
5. Cost & Quality Awareness:
I. Ensure purchases align with budget constraints.
II. Work with the quality team to inspect incoming materials and resolve discrepancies.
6. Inventory Support:
I. Monitor stock levels and coordinate with the warehouse team.
II. Ensure timely reordering of materials to avoid production delays.
Skills:
1. Basic knowledge of procurement and supply chain.
2. Understanding of technical specifications and commercial aspects of products.
3. Good communication skills, email drafting.
4. Experience with Tally for purchase entries and supplier payments.
5. Ability to prepare and present reports to senior management.
6. Basic negotiation and coordination skills.
7. Familiarity with Tally & Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
