Welding Inspector

Job Summary:
We are hiring for a Welding Inspector job in Vasai, Kaman. Candidate should have a minimum of 8 & Above years’ experience, gender will be Male & age not more than 45 years, and have Qualification Diploma / BE Mechanical or Production. This vacancy is for the Manufacturing industry.

Job Responsibilities:
1.The Welding Inspector shall be responsible for the effective control and surveillance of all welding activities related to seal supply systems.
2.Verify and control all applicable Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), Procedure Qualification Records (PQR) and welder qualification records prior to the commencement of fabrication and ensure that only qualified welders and approved procedures are employed for production.
3.Shall carry out stage wise and final visual inspections of welds and fabricated assemblies and ensure conformity with the applicable acceptance criteria defined in ASME, ISO and customer specifications.
4.Coordinate and witness non-destructive testing activities including radiography, ultrasonic testing and review NDT reports, verify repair welding activities and ensure proper closure of all welding-related non-conformities.
5.Monitoring and verification of post-weld heat treatment activities wherever applicable, including review of temperature charts, compliance with approved heat treatment procedures etc.
6.The Welding Inspector shall be responsible for maintaining complete and traceable welding quality documentation, including welding maps, inspection and test reports, welder qualification records, WPS and PQR files, NDT reports, heat treatment records and final manufacturing dossiers.
7.Actively support customer, third party and internal audits and inspections, represent company during welding related discussions with the customers and inspection agencies and ensure timely technical closure of inspection observations.
8.Ensure full and continued compliance with ISO 3834-2 – Comprehensive Quality Requirements for Fusion Welding of Metallic Materials, and to actively contribute to strengthening welding quality management system and continuous improvement initiatives.
9.Work closely with design, manufacturing and quality assurance team to resolve welding-related technical challenges, recommend improvements in welding practices, and support root cause analysis and corrective actions to prevent recurrence of defects.

Skills And Qualifications:
1.Strong working knowledge of international welding and fabrication standards such as ASME Section IX, ASME B31.3, ISO 3834-2 and applicable customer specifications.
2.Ability to interpret fabrication drawings, welding symbols, piping isometrics, inspection and test plans and quality documentation.
3.Good understanding of weld defects, acceptance criteria, repair methodologies and preventive quality controls.
