Production Head – VMC & CNC Machine Shop

Job Responsibilities : 

1. Manage complete production activities of the CNC and VMC machine shop.
2. Prepare daily, weekly and monthly production plans and ensure timely target achievement.
3. Monitor machine utilization, OEE, cycle time, downtime and production efficiency.
4. Handle CNC/VMC machining processes, machine setting, tooling and process optimization.
5. Improve tool life and reduce rejection, rework, scrap and production costs.
6. Review engineering drawings, GD&T, process plans and machining requirements.
7. Coordinate with Quality, Design, Maintenance, Purchase and Planning departments.
8. Ensure preventive maintenance of machines and minimize machine breakdowns.
9. Lead, train and supervise operators, setters, programmers and production technicians.
10. Maintain proper production records, machine reports, rejection reports and manpower reports.
11. Implement 5S, Kaizen, safety standards and continuous improvement activities.
12. Support customer audits, quality audits and management review meetings.
13. Ensure on-time delivery while maintaining required quality standards.

Required Skills

1. Strong experience in CNC and VMC machine-shop production.
2. Knowledge of CNC/VMC programming, setting, tooling and fixture selection.
3. Good understanding of engineering drawings, tolerances and GD&T.
4. Knowledge of OEE, cycle-time reduction, tool-life improvement and rejection control.
5. Experience in manpower handling and production planning.
6. Strong problem-solving, leadership and team-management skills.
7. Knowledge of 5S, Kaizen and continuous improvement systems.

Preferred Candidate

1. Candidates should have experience in a precision machining, automation machinery, engineering components, tool-room, automobile components or special-purpose machine manufacturing company.
