Quality Manager

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced and technically strong Quality Manager to lead

the Quality function at our Kaman manufacturing facility. The candidate should have

strong experience in CNC/VMC shop-floor quality, ISO audits, CMM inspection,

NPD, customer complaint handling, and team management.

Key Responsibilities

1. Manage and lead the complete Quality Assurance and Quality Control function.
2. Ensure quality standards and processes are effectively implemented across the CNC & VMC shop floor.
3. Plan, conduct, and coordinate ISO audits, including internal, customer, and certification audits.
4. Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and applicable quality management
5. systems.
6. Handle CMM inspection, measurement systems, dimensional inspection, and quality reports.
7. Monitor and improve in-process and final inspection activities.
8. Coordinate with Production, Engineering, Purchase, and other departments to resolve quality-related issues.
9. Handle customer complaints, rejections, quality issues, and escalations.
10. Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and implement CAPA / corrective and preventive actions.
11. Lead and support NPD (New Product Development) activities from development through production.
12. Review drawings, specifications, tolerances, inspection standards, and customer requirements.
13. Monitor process quality and identify opportunities for continuous improvement. 
14. Prepare and maintain quality-related MIS, inspection reports, rejection reports, customer complaint reports, and audit documentation.
15. Develop and implement quality control plans, inspection procedures, and quality standards.
16. Lead and manage the Quality team, including training, performance monitoring, and manpower planning.
17. Ensure proper calibration and control of measuring instruments and inspection equipment.
18. Drive reduction in rejection, rework, customer complaints, and process defects.

Required Skills & Knowledge

1. Strong knowledge of CNC & VMC manufacturing processes and shop-floor quality control.
2. Good knowledge of CMM and dimensional inspection.
3. Strong understanding of ISO 9001 and Quality Management Systems.
4. Experience in ISO/internal/customer audits.
5. Knowledge of NPD and new component development.
6. Strong knowledge of RCA, CAPA, 8D, and problem-solving techniques.
7. Ability to handle customer quality complaints and technical discussions.
8. Strong team leadership and people-management skills.
9. Good knowledge of engineering drawings, GD&T, tolerances, and measuring instruments.
10. Strong analytical, communication, and decision-making skills.
11. 10+ years of relevant experience in Quality Assurance / Quality Control, preferably in an engineering, precision manufacturing, CNC/VMC, or automotive
12. component manufacturing environment.
