QC Chemist

Key Responsibilities

1. Raw Material Testing: Test and approve incoming raw materials as per approved specifications and test methods.
2. Finished Product Testing: Conduct physical and chemical analysis of finished products and verify compliance with quality standards.
3. In-Process Testing: Perform testing at various stages of production and communicate results to the Production Department.
4. Laboratory Analysis: Carry out tests such as pH, viscosity, density, solid content, moisture, appearance, colour and other product-specific parameters.
5. Sampling: Collect representative samples of raw materials, in-process materials and finished products according to established procedures.
6. Documentation: Maintain laboratory records, test reports, COAs, batch records, specifications and other QC documentation.
7. Instrument Handling: Operate, calibrate and maintain laboratory instruments and ensure proper functioning of testing equipment.
8. Deviation Handling: Identify and report out-of-specification (OOS) results, deviations and abnormal observations to the concerned senior.
9. Quality Compliance: Ensure testing activities are carried out according to approved SOPs, specifications and safety procedures.
10. Product Development Support: Assist the R&D/Product Development team with laboratory trials, comparative testing and evaluation of new products when required.
11. Customer Samples: Test and evaluate customer samples and provide analytical results and feedback to the concerned department.
12. Retention Samples: Maintain proper retention samples of batches as per company procedures.
13. Housekeeping & Safety: Maintain laboratory cleanliness, chemical safety and proper storage of chemicals and samples.
14. Coordination: Coordinate with Production, R&D, Purchase and other departments regarding quality-related matters.
