QA Engineer / QC Engineer

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES : 

Inspection & Welding Quality Control 

1. Conduct in-process quality checks during fabrication, welding, and fit-up. 
2. Verify WPS (Welding Procedure Specification) and ensure WQT (Welder Qualification Test) adherence. 
3. Identify, document, and report non-conformities and assist in root cause analysis. 
4. Supervise visual inspections and coordinate NDT with third-party or internal teams.
5. Ensure traceability of materials through heat numbers and project codes. 

QA Documentation & Recordkeeping 

1. Maintain inspection reports, weld logs, and stage-wise checklists. 
2. Collect and organize MTCs (Material Test Certificates) and third-party test reports. 
3. Update project ITPs, QAPs, and submit stage documents for client/consultant approvals. 
4. Assist in the preparation of project dossiers, handover documentation, and QA transmittals. 

System Compliance & Coordination 

1. Interface with the planning and stores team to verify incoming material quality. 
2. Coordinate with the QA/QC Manager to update formats, SOPs, and NCR trackers. 
3. Maintain digital or physical record traceability for all inspections performed.

Skills

1. Familiarity with ASME / IS welding codes 
2. Hands-on experience in WPS/PQR/WQT validation
3. Good knowledge of QA documents, MTCs, NCRs 
4. Proficient in MS Excel / Word and familiarity with ERP (preferred)  

Tools Exposure (Preferred) 

1. Vernier, height gauge, welding gauges 
2. NDT (PT/UT) 
3. Familiarity with inspection format checklists and QAP workflows
