 Job Summary –

Our company is looking for a Purchasing Manager who can analyze our current buying systems and create the best methods for day-to-day purchasing operations. Our Purchasing Manager will be responsible for overseeing our purchasing department, establishing buyer goals based on corporate inventory needs and sales projections for the coming year and setting career objectives for each member of the purchasing team.  Responsibilities and duties: -

 1) Propose improvements to the current purchasing system that will improve vendor relationships and lower the cost of doing business.

 2) To build an effective category sourcing structure.

 3) To work out Sourcing strategy of key raw materials & forecast to the internal stake holders like Engineering, Estimation, Sales, Projects, Production etc., in case of any foreseen supply constraints.

 4) To work out the Strategy for the right supplier selection.

 5) Manage the company’s day-to-day purchasing activities and ensure that all purchasing buyers are meeting their personal performance standards.

 6) Develop multiple vendors to have operational flexibility & to maintain the cost within the desired limits.

 7) Ensure to convert repeated purchases and/services into the Rate contracts, for best prices, to improve the Time efficiency in procurement, so that the production Team will get material in Time, & the delays on account of procurement could be avoided.

 8) To implement Cost Reduction programs periodically.

 9) To implement the Risk Identification & mitigation process.

 10) To identify Innovation opportunities with use of newly evolved technologies, pertaining to our sphere of products line.

 11) Optimization of the supplier's portfolio, in line with the procurement strategies.

 12) Negotiations of supplier’s agreements.

 13) Lead & Manage the supplier's Performance, w. r. t. Quality, Supplier's capacity, sustainability, Service & Innovation etc., with feedback mechanism to category Manager for evaluation.

 14) Participate in cross functional team's projects for cost reduction & value Engineering.

 15) Collaborate with inventory control and sales to develop metrics for gauging inventory level needs and then maintaining those levels throughout the year

 16) Take the lead in creating profitable ways to manage obsolete and slow-moving stock to help offset losses.

 17) Provide accurate information to the Engineering/Estimation Team to produce an aligned budget.

 

 Develop the MIS format to monitor KPIs such as,

 (a) Cost Variance statement viz a viz allocated budgets, with reasoning.

 (b) Inventory holding, 

 (c) Scrap Management & disposal details.

 (d) Vendor development initiatives, 

 (e) Capacity planning, 

 (f) Price trends, 

 (g) Supplier reliability report,

 (h) Competitive data,

 (i) Emerging trend on a regular basis.
