Production Manager

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced and result-oriented Production Manager to manage and control day-to-day production activities. The candidate will be responsible for achieving production targets, maintaining quality standards, optimizing manpower and machine utilization, reducing rejection and downtime, and ensuring smooth production operations.

 Key Responsibilities

1.  Plan, organize and monitor daily, weekly and monthly production activities.
2.  Achieve production targets as per customer requirements and production schedules.
3.  Manage production of CNC, VMC and conventional machining operations.
4.  Plan manpower, machine capacity and production resources effectively.
5.  Monitor machine utilization, productivity and overall production efficiency.
6.  Coordinate with Planning, Quality, Maintenance, Purchase and Stores departments.
7.  Ensure production is carried out as per approved drawings, specifications and quality standards.
8.  Minimize rejection, rework, scrap and machine downtime.
9.  Monitor production losses and implement corrective and preventive actions.
10.  Ensure proper utilization of raw materials, tools, consumables and manpower.
11.  Monitor tool life, cutting tools and consumable requirements.
12.  Prepare and maintain daily production reports, MIS and production performance reports.
13.  Analyze production data and take corrective action wherever required.
14.  Ensure proper implementation of SOPs, work instructions and safety procedures.
15.  Maintain discipline and productivity of production staff and operators.
16.  Train, guide and develop supervisors, operators and other production employees.
17.  Coordinate with maintenance team for preventive and breakdown maintenance.
18.  Ensure machines are available and operational as per production requirements.
19.  Monitor OEE, productivity, rejection, downtime and production efficiency.
20.  Implement Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen and continuous improvement initiatives.
21.  Ensure proper housekeeping and workplace safety within the production area.
22.  Handle production-related customer requirements and urgent production priorities.
23.  Support new product development, process improvement and capacity enhancement.
24.  Ensure timely completion of production orders as per dispatch schedules.
25.  Identify bottlenecks in the production process and implement solutions.
26.  Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards and applicable statutory requirements.

 Required Skills

1. Strong knowledge of CNC and VMC machining processes.
2. Good knowledge of production planning and shop-floor management.
3. Experience in handling operators, supervisors and production teams.
4. Knowledge of production MIS and Excel.
5. Good knowledge of quality control and process improvement techniques.
6. Knowledge of 5S, Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing and OEE will be an advantage.
7. Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
8. Good communication and team-management skills.
9. Ability to work under production targets and time pressure.

1.  Candidate should have strong shop-floor experience and the ability to
