Design Engineer ( Packaging )

Primary Responsibilities

1. Understand, visualise, and design products.
2. Conduct research and development (R&D) activities for product innovation.
3. Design products that meet specified requirements.
4. Develop creative, flexible, and cost-effective product designs.

Key Responsibilities

1. Order Specification Review

• Study layouts and order specifications.
• Coordinate with the Project Team in case of deviations.
• Source the required information.

2. Research & Development

• Study new methods and market requirements.
• Prepare and maintain an information database.
• Conduct R&D for product customisation according to customer requirements.

3. Design Drawings & Material Estimation

• Prepare product design drawings using AutoCAD. Knowledge of SolidWorks is mandatory.
• Verify designs and obtain approval from the Project Manager or Production Manager.
• Prepare the Bill of Materials (BoM) and Bill of Quantities (BoQ), as applicable.
• Coordinate with the Purchase and Stores departments to verify material availability against specifications.

4. Production Support & Issue Resolution

• Understand production queries and evaluate production challenges.
• Provide clarifications and technical guidance to the Production Team.
• Modify designs, where necessary, to resolve production issues.
• Obtain approval and revise BoM estimations where required.

5. Software Data Entry & MIS

• Handle software data entry and MIS-related activities.
